SUMMARY
In its current composition, Congress will not impeach and remove the president and vice president, because both chambers of Congress are controlled by grovelers of Donald Trump and his MAGA segment of the American public, whereas the impeachment and removal of the two principals require cooperation of a simple majority of the House of Representatives and 2/3 of Senate. There is a good likelihood that the Democrats will take control of both chambers of Congress following the 2026 midterm elections. The chances of achieving the requisite majorities of anti-Trump congresspeople in the two houses may be greatly enhanced by a seismic showing of popular demand for the removal of the president and vice president from power. Such a demonstration can take place in the form of the proposed Four-Million march on Washington to call on Congress to liberate the nation from the despotic rule of the two top federal executives, as well as to rally the American people to vote out in the 2026 midterm elections the congressional Republicans. The author argues that a sufficiently large venue exists in Washington to accommodate 4 million demonstrators and that it is possible to find and organize 4 million Americans to participate in the march. As an experienced builder and leader of grassroots organizations, the author offers to spearhead the organization of the Four Million March.
Venue For The March
According to certain historical records, 1.8 million Americans attended the 2009 inauguration of President Barack Obama at the National Mall, 1.4 million gathered at the same location for the 1963 inauguration of Lyndon B. Johnson and nearly 1 million people marched there in the 1995 Million Man March, organized by Louis Farrakhan. The National mall’s area is approximately 310 acres, or 13 million square feet. According to reliable sources, to march comfortably in a crowd, one person requires approximately 6 square feet. Thus, the National Mall can accommodate a marching crowd of 2.2 million people, over one half the desired 4 million number. However, several times the area of the National mall is available in DC for the march, if such major adjacent to the Mall streets as Pennsylvania and Constitution Avenues, as well as First, Second and Third Streets is made available for the march. Thus, the National Mall plus the adjacent streets can accommodate at least 4 million marchers.
How To Recruit Four Million Marchers
Most prospective participants in the march should come from states within drivable distance to the National Mall, namely the Washington metropolitan area, and states of Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia, North Carolina, Delaware, Pennsylvania, New York, as well as the New England states. Three categories of Americans who are likely to be interested to participate in the march are as follows: A. Registered Democrats and Independents. (According to the author’s research, over 32 million registered Democrats live in these regions. If only one in 8 Democrats from these states attend the march, they will already provide the sought after 4 million marchers.) B. disaffected Trump voters (Various statistics show that 25% of the Americans who voted for Trump have strong buyer’s remorse, especially because of the passage of the Trump’s Big Beautiful Bill, which is expected to devastate millions of poor Americans in rural areas, many of whom voted for Trump. Arguably, multiple million of such people live in these regions.) C. People who would attend the march for the tourist, historical significance and entertainment value of the event. (It is difficult to argue rigorously, about the number of Americans, who would fall into this category, but it is highly likely that a performance at the event by such outspoken celebrity critics of Trump as comedians Jimmy Kimmel and Stephen Colbert, as well as the music stars Bruce Springsteen, Beyoncé and Taylor Swift would make the event particularly appealing to multitudes of Americans, especially young individuals.)
Who Would Organize The Event
The author is an experienced organizer of marches for individual rights, who had founded and led for ten years a national legal reform coalition A Matter of Justice(For various reasons, the coalition is no longer in existence.) With some assistance from the Democratic parties of the mentioned states, the author could develop and execute an organizational plan for the march. He would welcome an opportunity to discuss this further with the offices of congresspeople from the nearest to Washington DC states, such as the Democratic Senators Tim Kaine, Mark Warner, Chris Van Hollen and Chris Coons, as well as Representatives AOC, Eugene Vindman, etc. The author also envisions obtaining valuable advice and assistance from NAACP, as well as significant financial assistance through a grant from the Open Society Foundations.
